MYRIORAMA
Series of 16 silver photography, 160 x 45 cm each
«MYRIORAMA» is a series of sixteen silver photographs that
transcends traditional temporal boundaries through long
exposure shots of the ocean. These exposures capture not a
single moment, but a prolonged period, blurring time to create a
continuous visual narrative.
The concept of a myriorama—originally a set of interchangeable
landscape cards that can be arranged in multiple ways—inspires
the structure of this series. Each photograph, while complete in
itself, is a modular component of a larger tableau. The horizon line
serves as a seamless connector among the panels, establishing a
flat, unbroken line that ties the collection together.
Following the initial capture, the negatives were scanned and
digitally altered to shift the natural colors towards an otherworldly
palette. This manipulation further abstracts the familiar seascape
into an alien terrain, challenging the viewer’s perception of natural
and artificial landscapes. Through this visual and conceptual
transformation, «MYRIORAMA» invites viewers to reconsider the
boundaries of landscape photography and the fluidity of natural
scenes.
